ABOUT NONPROFIT FELLOWSHIPS

The nonprofit fellows program places outstanding nonprofit management students (as demonstrated by academic success, character and commitment to the sector) in academic year fellowships in a selected nonprofit organization.
The student is expected to maintain weekly hours (approximately 8-10) as an intern in the organization, complete a major project and participate in professional development and networking events with the leadership from the organization.
Fellows receive a scholarship of $5,000, academic credit and a travel stipend of $1,000. This is an academic year obligation and fellows are expected to be available for the entire year.
Fellows must concurrently enroll in GSGS595 (for grade) or BA599 (for CR/NC) with Dr. Regan Schaffer for both the fall and spring semesters while in their fellowship. The class meets on campus monthly (usually first Wednesday of month) from 8:30 – 9:50 am, but fellows are also be expected to have meetings outside of class time with staff from the Ventura County Community Foundation (who is our partner in coordinating the fellowships).
The fellowship fulfills the nonprofit management minor internship requirement.
